The classes are taught with the intention of bringing a new awareness of how you move as well as quiet yourself. The word "chi" refers to the life force energy. There are different theories on the origins of Tai Chi, however a common one refers to a monk watching a serpent and a crane in battle. He noticed as the crane attacked the snake, by shifting its body at the right moment, the serpent never allowed the crane to touch it. One of the most notable qualities of Tai Chi is a feeling of flowing from one movement to another.

Heidi has been teaching Tai Chi for years in a variety of situations. Her experiences range from teaching at massage schools, hospitals, and adult education programs, to presenting seminars at universities and classes at resorts in Hawaii. She brings into play her background in psychology to help encourage personal awareness and awaken a new focus for over-all wellness.

The classes are taught at the Old Airport State Park, on the beach side, at the far end of the strip, by the last pavilion. Class begins at 5:30 to about 6:45. No equipment required.
